In the 1990s Ed Husain was a fundamentalist. Active in three major Islamist organizations in Britain, including Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a group banned in many countries around the world and currently under threat of being banned in Britain, he was recruited when he was sixteen. Five years later, after a period of intense personal turmoil, Ed rejected Islamic fundamentalism. He is author of The Islamist, which talks about his experiences for the first time.
