Gilbert Adair is the author of the novels The Holy Innocents, which won the Author's Club First Novel Award, Love and Death on Long Island, The Death of the Author, The Key of the Tower and A Closed Book. He also wrote Hollywood's Vietnam, which analysed the cinema's treatment of the Vietnam War; Myths & Memories, The Postmodernist Always Rings Twice and Surfing the Zeitgeist, three collections of essays on British culture; Flickers, a celebration of the cinema's centenary; and two sequels to classics of children's literature, Alice Through the Needle's Eye and Peter Pan and the Only Children. He lives in London and is frequently published as a journalist.
