Michael Thain |
Michael Thain was born in Hampstead in 1946 and went to University College School. He read Zoology and then Human Biology at Keble College, Oxford, studied History and Philosophy of Science at University College London, read Philosophy at Birkbeck College, and History of Technology at Imperial College, London. He has taught in the Biology Department at Harrow School since 1969 where he also manages a nature reserve in the school grounds. A Fellow of the Institute of Biology, he is currently working on a Dictionary of Zoology and a Dictionary of Human Biology, also for Penguin. He has one stepdaughter and one son.
