Harriet Walter

Since training at LAMDA Harriet Walter has worked extensively in theatre, television, film and radio. She began working with theatre groups such as Common Stock, Joint Stock, 7:84 and Paines Plough, and then moved on to the Royal Court, the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she received an Olivier award for her performances in Twelfth Night, Three Sisters and A Question of Geography in 1988. Harriet has twice won the Sony Radio Award for Best Actress, in 1988 and 1991. She is an Associate Artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company and was made a CBE in 2000.

Her most recent theatre work includes Macbeth, playing Lady Macbeth opposite Antony Sher for the RSC; The Late Middle Classes by Simon Gray; Ivanov (Almeida); Hedda Gabler (Chichester Festival Theatre and tour); Old Times (Wyndhams); Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and The Children's Hour (Royal National Theatre); and Three Birds Alighting on a Field (Royal Court and Manhattan Theater Club).

Harriet has appeared in a variety of TV drama including Leprechauns, A Dance to the Music of Time, Unfinished Business, Norman Ormal (with Harry Enfield), The Price, Lord Peter Wimsey, Ashenden, and The Men's Room. Her film credits include Onegin, Bedrooms and Hallways, The Governess, Keep the Aspidistra Flying, Milou En Mai and Sense and Sensibility.
