John S. Scott |
Born in 1915, John S. Scott was a chartered structural and mining engineer, a certificated colliery manager and a qualified linguist. He worked in Austria, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia and the UK. He spent ten years in civil engineering and then went on to write and translate from French, German and Russian. He is also the author of The Penguin Dictionary of Civil Engineering. John S. Scott died in 1997.
