Derek Rowntree |
Derek Rowntree has a degree in Economics, a Certificate in Education and a Higher Doctorate (D.Tech.). He has taught in secondary school, college of technology, college of education and university. He has been a visiting professor at Concordia University, Montreal, and at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Toronto. For some years he was Chief Editor for a publishing company in the field of programmed learning, and he led a team of writers working on academic subjects and on industrial training topics.
Since 1970 he has been with the Open University where he is now Professor of Educational Development at the Institute of Educational Technology. His other books include Learn How To Study, Educational Technology in Curriculum Development, Assessing Students: How Shall We Know Them?, Developing Courses for Students, Teaching Through Self-instruction, The Manager's Book of Checklists and How to Manage Your Boss.
