Michael Basker

Michael Basker is a Reader in Russian and Head of Russian Studies at the University of Bristol. He was educated at University College, Oxford, and taught for two years at the University of Lancaster before moving to Bristol in 1983. He has published widely on the subject of Russian poetry, particularly of the early twentieth century, on which he has written in both English and Russian. He has also edited Pushkin’s The Bronze Horseman for Bristol Classical Press (2000).
