Stephen Weatherill

Stephen Weatherill received his schooling in Hull and Bradford, before being awarded MA and MSc degrees by the universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh respectively. He held lecturing posts at the universities of Reading and Manchester, before moving to the University of Nottingham where he occupied the Jean Monnet Chair of European Law until the end of 1997. Since the beginning of 1998 he has held the title of Jacques Delors Professor of European Community Law in the University of Oxford and he is a Fellow of Somerville College, Oxford. He has delivered papers on European Community and Union law to many academic and professional audiences in the UK, other member states of the Community and the wider Europe.

He is the author of Cases and Materials on EC Law (4th ed; 1998) and has contributed to several other works connected with the development of Community and Union law. He is also the author of several articles in leading legal journals, including the Yearbook of European Law, the Common Market Law Review and the European Law Review.
