Christopher Russell

Christopher Russell had his first radio play broadcast in 1975. At this time he was a postman - having given up a job in the Civil Service to do shift work and so have more daytime hours for writing. He has been a full time script-writer since 1980 and has worked on many television and radio programmes including Eastenders, A Touch of Frost and Midsomer Murders. Christopher lives on the Isle of Wight.

What’s your favourite book?                                       
The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens

What’s your favourite song?          
Love is in the Air by John Paul Young.

What’s your favourite film?                                        
The Magnificent Seven.

What’s your most treasured possession?                    
My wedding ring.

When did you start writing?                                        
When I could hold a pencil.

Where do your ideas and inspirations come from?     
My wife.

My three tips for becoming a successful author:          
Don’t / Give / Up.

What’s your favourite place in the world and why?    
Home, wherever that might be; because it’s a haven and a springboard.

What are your hobbies?                                                
Football, fresh air and partying.

If you hadn’t been an author, what do you think you would have been?          
Wistful.
