Cherry Whytock

Cherry Whytock is the author of the succesful teenage series Angel including Disasters, Diets and D-Cups. A graduate of art and textile design, she has exhibited in London and locally. Cherry is married with two grown-up girls and lives in Tunbridge Wells where she can be found upside down in her flowerbeds weeding.

I was born in Rudgwick, Sussex on August 22nd (the year was so long ago that I've forgotten).

My favourite book is Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

My favourite song is Circle Game by Joni Mitchell

My favourite film is Annie Hall with Woody Allen

My most treasured possession(s) are all my photographs

I started writing in 2002

I get ideas and inspiration from my children, my grandchild, watching all the people around me, music, songs and memories.

Three tips to becoming an author: never be discouraged; try to write something every day and love it, then you will write well.

My favourite place in the world is my old blue sofa with a blanket, a cup of tea and a good book (oh, and a chocolate biscuit or two).

My hobbies are painting, planting things, finding treasure in junk shops, reading, walking my dog and making things (especially with glitter).

If I hadn't been an author I would have been a world famous artist with a painting in Tate Modern - in my dreams . . .
