Philip Pullman |
Philip Pullman was born in Norwich in 1946. He was brought up in Africa, Australia, London and Wales and went to Oxford University to read English. He is married with four children and now lives in Oxford where he teaches at Westminster College. In 1987, he won the Lancashire Children's Book of the Year Award for The Ruby in the Smoke in which he introduced Sally Lockhart. Since then he has written three more action-packed thrillers featuring this independent Victorian heroine.
