Synopsis

A folk tale from the Indian peoples of North America. The rabbit in folk tales, especially in the South East of America, is always depicted as a trickster. This a wonderful rhythmic tale about how the rabbit tricked the Sky People into letting him steal the fire so that all the animals could share it. As the animals helped the rabbit to escape with the fire, each was marked by it in some way but eventually the wood hid the fire, so that it could be released by rubbing two sticks together. Age range: 4 - 8 years.
