'This book introduces us to the main character who’s name is Jerome. He was writing to his Mum about his life. The weather was hot and he is laughing at his mum for wanting to buy him shorts and sandals. He hangs around with his gang and lives in a flat. He hates the police for watching people from the helicopter, “like they was hunting animals”. Jerome talks about the postman. He found a dead body of a man who jumped off the balcony of his flat. This makes me think the area he lives in is not nice. He doesn’t like police, old people or girls because they show off and try to act like Rihanna. He also talks about his little sister called Shontelle who he thinks his mum likes more than him because she does not cause any trouble. In his mum’s time there were youth clubs open, the buildings were new and there was stuff to occupy the young people. They kept getting mugged and they went to a party and Jerome thought whisky was water and he said to his mum that he isn’t going to drink but he did drink. Michael got stabbed and the police hurried up and they got there in time to save Michael. Jerome and Adrian were walking on the street and all the other girls thought they were going to get mugged and get stabbed but Adrian said these girls think that we will steal their bag when we are not going to rob them. Last thing he felt was a knife going to his neck. His heart went cold then he saw them standing above him and he knew he was dead. He had only fourteen years life. I like it because he dies at the end and I like it when they were talking about the posh house and the girls acting like Rihanna and they were talking about the car names and I like the cars which were in the book. I like the book and I will recommend to my family and friends. '
