Synopsis

An exquisite 30th anniversary edition of The BFG - Roald Dahl's much-loved story of a little girl, Sophie, and a Big Friendly Giant. This large format paperback comes in a beautiful, ingeniously designed slipcase and is a gloriumptious gift for Roald Dahl fans and book collectors.

Every night, when the world is sleeping, big gruesome giants guzzle up whoppsy whiffling human beans. And there's only one giant who can stop them - the BFG. He's the kindest giant there is, and with his friend Sophie in his top pocket, he sets out to rid the world of the Bloodbottler, the Fleshlumpeater and all their rotsome friends forever . . .

Roald Dahl is the World's Number One Storyteller. He was born in 1916 in Wales to Norwegian parents. He was educated in England and went on to work for the Shell Oil Company in Africa, becoming an RAF pilot when World War Two began. He wrote James and the Giant Peach in 1961 and every one of his subsequent books has become a bestseller all over the world. Roald Dahl died in 1990 at the age of 74.

Quentin Blake is well known as Roald Dahl's principal illustrator but has also written and illustrated a great many picture books of his own, such as Mister Magnolia and Zagazoo. In 1999 he was appointed the first ever Children's Laureate.
