Don't let the bed bugs bite
Bed bugs' mouths are designed to pierce and suck and they can take in up to four times their body weight in blood. Adult bed bugs live for nine to eighteen months and don't need food to survive; they can live from four months to a year without consuming a single drop of blood. |

Heads up
Head lice may only be tiny, but they sure can move fast; about 23cm [9 inches] in 60 seconds. |

Now wash your hands
Around 20% of women and 40% of men don't wash their hands after using a public loo. 90% of germs on the hands are found under the nails. The number of bacteria can double in 20 minutes and after one day without hand washing; a single bacterium can multiply 2 billion, trillion times. |

Best foot forward
There are around 600 sweat glands per square centimetre on the soles of each foot - that's about 250,000 sweat glands per foot squirting sweat each day. |

Beardy BO!
If beards are not properly maintained, they can become the perfect habitat for a variety of blood sucking human lice. Neglected beards can smell just as bad as armpits - hardly surprising, as they contain the same acrid-smelling bacteria. |

Bog breath
If you don't brush your teeth, bacteria breed in large numbers, encouraging tooth decay, absesses, gum disease and the erosion of bone in the jaw. Oral infection causes fever, swelling, and can spread to the brain, nearby bones and soft tissues. |

What not to have in your bra
After a day's wear, a bra will normally contain around 1,000 bacteria. |

Close to the skin
More dust mites live in the bedroom than in any other room in the house. In a six-year-old pillow, a tenth of the weight is likely to be skin flakes, dust mites and their droppings. |
