Terms & Conditions for Weekend In Paris:
Penguin Books Ltd & Eurostar Promotion
1. This prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 and over, who hold a valid 10-year passport. Employees of Penguin Books Limited or Eurostar Group Limited are not eligible to enter. By entering this prize draw you will be deemed to have read and understood these terms and conditions and to be bound by them.
2. The address for entry is as stated in the entry details.
3. Closing Date for receipt of entries is midnight 31st March 2005.
4. No purchase necessary. Only one entry per person.
5. Entry to the draw is free and must be made on the official entry form, which can be found on the Penguin website at www.penguin.co.uk. Alternatively, to obtain a copy of the official entry form please send a request to: Eurostar Prize Draw, Penguin General Marketing, 80 Strand, London, WC2R 0RL.
6. No responsibility can be accepted for incomplete, illegible, lost or damaged entries. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Entries via agents or third parties will be deemed invalid.
7. The winner will be drawn at random by Penguin Books Limited on 11th April 2005 from the official entries received. The first entry to be drawn will receive the prize: The Prize is based on two adults travelling together and sharing a room and includes 1st Class return travel with Eurostar to Paris and two nights bed & breakfast accommodation at the Hotel Bel Ami (staying Friday and Saturday night) subject to the availability and the dates set out below in section 10. The Prize is non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
8. The prize does not include all other incidentals including, but not limited to, extra meals, drinks, minibar, telephone calls and the cost of local travel in Paris.
9. The winner will be notified in writing by 13th April 2005. The winner’s details will be made available after 13th April 2005 upon written request including a stamped addressed envelope for reply.
10. The winner will be sent a voucher equivalent to Eurostar travel and details on how to redeem their prize. It is recommended that the winner sends in their booking to Eurostar by registered post. Booking needs to be at least 21 days in advance of travel. The winner must travel between 6th May 2005 and 31st October 2005 (inclusive). For Eurostar’s terms and conditions of booking and travel please send a stamped addressed envelope to the Promoter’s address. The Hotel Bel Ami offers a double room for two nights (staying Friday and Saturday night) on a complimentary bed and breakfast basis. This offer is valid depending on availability and until 31st October 2005. Date restrictions apply. This offer is not valid for travel 27 & 28 May, 12-19 June, 26 & 27 August, 2-5 September and 21 & 22 October 2005.
11. All bookings and travel must originate in the UK.
12. The Prize excludes travel insurance and transportation to and from London Waterloo International, Ashford International, and Paris Gare du Nord.
13. The Winner must comply with all relevant customs and immigration requirements, including the appropriate passport and visa requirements. Neither Penguin Books Limited nor Eurostar Group Limited will be responsible for any passenger’s failure to comply. The winner is strongly advised to take out adequate travel insurance.
14. The winner agrees to the use of his or her name and photograph for publicity purposes and may be required to take part in publicity without additional payment or permission.
15. The prize described is available on the date of publication. Events may occur that render the promotion itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of Penguin Books Limited. Penguin Books Limited may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the winner agrees that no liability shall attach itself to Penguin Books Limited.
16. The decision of Eurostar Group Ltd and Penguin Books Limited is final and binding for any situation, including any not covered in these terms and conditions. Correspondence will be entered into only at the absolute discretion of Penguin Books Limited.
