- No purchase necessary to enter the prize draw.
- This prize draw is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, with the exception of employees of the Promoter, their families, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion.
- Entries must be received by 5.30pm, 30th June 2008. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of posting or sending is not proof of receipt. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned.
- Only one entry per person. No entrant may win more than one prize.
- To enter fill in your details on the online form. All correctly completed entries will be entered into a prize draw which will take place on 2nd July 2008. The first entry drawn will be the winner.
- The prize for the winners is for the author of Grow Your Own Family Tree, Alan Stewart, to offer email advice and consultancy in the research of the winner’s own family tree. The prize is for consultancy only, and neither the Promoter nor Alan Stewart can guarantee any results in the uncovering each winner’s family history. Furthermore, neither the Promoter nor Alan Stewart will be liable for any costs associated with the research undertaken and advice given by Alan Stewart on behalf of the winner or costs associated with any independent research undertaken by the Winners as a result of the consultancy provided by Alan Stewart, whether incurred during the period of consultation or otherwise. The consultancy will consist of 12 hours consultancy from Alan Stewart, which includes his research and preparation time and no warranty is made as to the quantity of emails received by the winners. The 12 hours of advice will be provided over a time period of no longer than 3 months in total. However, the exact time and date of the consultancy provided is entirely at the discretion of Alan Stewart. Furthermore, the calculation of the time spent by Alan Stewart in providing such consultancy will be made entirely by Alan Stewart and the Promoter. The winners will also receive a copy of Grow Your Own Family Tree.
- Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice. No correspondence will be entered into.
- The winners will be notified via email or post by 30th July, 2008. The winners must claim their prize within 14 working days of the Promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winners selected in accordance with these rules.
- To obtain details of the winners please email competitions@penguin.co.uk stating the name of the prize draw in the subject heading 4 weeks after the closing date.
- The Promoter will use any data submitted by entrants only for the purposes of running the prize draw, unless otherwise stated in the entry details. By entering this prize draw, all entrants consent to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of this prize draw and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented.
- The winners agree to take part in reasonable post event publicity and to the use of their names and photographs in such publicity.
- By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
