NICK ON THE FILM STUFF

'It's very exciting to work with people when normally you sit on your own all day. It's exciting to see characters on the page that are a product of one's imagination having an independent life - people like Hugh Grant and Toni Collette [who play Will and Fiona in About a Boy] find enough in the characters to be able to act them. It's just fun. Most parts of writing aren't fun, but the film stuff is a lot of fun, mostly because I don't have to do anything'
