Explanation of work
When I first read the brief for Mr Clarinet I knew immediately that I wanted to incorporate collographs into the final design because of the atmospheric effects the process creates and the textures it produces.
I combined these textures with ink drawings of palm leaves, inspired by the Haitian setting, to produce a cover representing ‘paradise gone wrong’. The final cover I feel demonstrates the freshness and integrity of design that Penguin stands for.
