Explanation of work
The concept for my cover is based on how Donna Tartt makes the reader feel whilst reading the book. Readers often felt as if they were ‘drugged’, ‘drunk’ or having an ‘out of body experience’. Tartt makes us feel like the students in the book, like Henry’s desire to transcend. I focused on darkness, chaos and surrealism;’ the flow of the illustration crashes together like the emotions of the characters.
