Explanation of work
For the final book cover I chose to visualize the two main characters of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road: Dean Moriarty and Sal Paradise. Dean Moriarty is the one in the grey, for me symbolizing the lone runner and the guy who is letting Sal down in the end. Though they are good friends, he is hard to be around for longer periods. The typeface is a serif with a similar feel to the one Jack Kerouac used when writing his book on an old typewriter. In the background there is a hint of concrete texture plus a map of a road in America.
