A big thank you to everyone who entered the 2009 Penguin Design Award. We had submissions from over sixty colleges and thought the standard of work was exceptionally high this year. We were particularly impressed that so many of the students had obviously read The Secret History in close detail, resulting in some very imaginative concepts that really did justice to the book.
After much deliberation and thought the judges were unanimous in their choices for 1st and 2nd places but were torn over the two very strong candidates for 3rd place, resulting in a tied 3rd.
We would particularly like to congratulate the winner, Peter Adlington, and look forward to welcoming him to Penguin for his six-week work placement in the Art Department.
