Explanation of work
I have chosen to base my design on the experiences of living the American dream in the 1950s, hitching lifts and sleeping wherever you can with only the clothes on your back and a packet of smokes. The cigarette packet, which the cover design is based on, and book reflect the nature of this, and the dusty worn imagery conveys the travelling aspect. The stars and stripes represent the American flag, with the line down the centre representing a line down a road.
