Explanation of work

My book cover design utilises ivy as a theme, which is to represent the scene in the woods where the murder takes place. Ivy also has many other connotations relating to ivy-league universities, and because ivy covers whatever it grows on, I believe this is a good metaphor for the concealing of secrets within the story. I used a deep red because it is an obvious signifier for danger, passion and death. The yellowed and old-looking background is used to represent the historical element of the story.
