Explanation of work
For the cover of Donna Tartt’s The Secret History I chose to concentrate on the breakdown of the group’s relationship. At first I was attempting to do this using the royal cards of a deck to try to convey the hierarchy of power within the group, but I finally decided on the deer-skull imagery to convey the first lie that led to the breakup of the group. I chose to draw this in a way that would also acknowledge the pagan references in the book.
