Explanation of work
My concept was to create a book cover completely different from Quentin Blake's faux-naive style by using simplistic shapes and strong colours. I used a bright and warm colour palette to represent the feelings of companionship and friendship that are often shown within the book. The cover has a great sense of depth to represent the long journey that the characters embark upon. I created the characters and left them quite minimal, to allow for the strong characteristics and personalities to fuel the reader's imagination.
