Explanation of work
My idea for the book jacket was inspired by a quote from The Secret History, which seemed to epitomise the entire novel; the ravens on the dead tree is an image often associated with death and decay, themes that underpin the narrative. The contrasting contemporary black and white style represents death beneath the snow, as well as the double lives that the characters in the novel lead.
