Explanation of work
My design for the cover of The Shock Doctrine is to get across the idea of disaster, terrorism and hidden information. The book refers to the exploitation of disaster-shocked people and countries, so the cover represents a city collapsing but the image has been shredded to hide the information from the public. The typeface is simple and allows the imagery to be the strongest element, although on the front cover the typeface works with the image to look like another skyscraper.
