T-Rex Trying: The Unfortunate Trials of the Tyrant Lizard King
He might be top predator in the Jurassic kingdom, but in modern life, T-Rex's comically short arms doom him to the most charming failure.
T-Rex has teeth the size of bananas and eats Triceratops for breakfast, but when it's time to brush his teeth ...
T-Rex is 12 metres long and 4 metres tall, but somehow he just can't change that light bulb ...
T-Rex Trying began as an inside joke that artist Hugh Murphy shared with his friends and family, then he uploaded them to a Tumblr blog (http://trextrying.tumblr.com/) which went onto to achieve a staggering 2.5 million hits in two weeks. Since then, the Tumblr has been shared on Facebook over 230,000 times its a new viral treasure!
This week we can't stop talking aboutEverybody's Hacked Off by journalist and press reform campaigner Brian Cathcart.
With the party conferences under way and the relationship between politics and the media continually under close scrutiny, there's no better time to have a read of his Penguin Special on the Leveson inquiry. It's a complete overview of the trial and shows just how the British media abused their position of power from the phone hacking of Milly Dowler and Sienna Miller, to the corruption at the heart of the British press. Hugh Grant's introduction gives the insiders view of the trial, and explains exactly how it feels when your life is invaded by the media.
If you want to get up to speed and know exactly what went on behind closed doors at the major newspapers, it's a great summary - and as it's a digital short, it's the perfect book to sit down with during your coffee break or at lunch.
Check out some of the pictures from the launch party which include the lovely Hugh Grant!

The Diary of a Young Girl Anne Frank APP
Released in App format 18 October 2012
by Viking & TradeMobile
Monday, 03 September - Viking, Penguin and TradeMobile are honoured to publish The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank in App format for the first time on 18 October 2012. A trailer for the App is available here.
Anne's diary movingly reveals how the eight people living under these extraordinary conditions coped with the daily threat of discovery and death, being cut off from the outside world, petty misunderstandings and the unbearable strain of living like prisoners. The Anne Frank App enables a deeper understanding of Anne's thoughts and experience, bringing readers closer emotionally to the diary.
Richard and Judy's autumn bookclub choices have been announced and we are delighted that two Penguins are on the list. Elizabeth Noble's 'Between A Mother And Her Child' is all about mothers and their love for their children, which they call a 'weepy, but ultimately enriching and optimistic'. Maria Duenas's The Seamstress is the biggest sensation to come from Spain since Carlos Ruiz Zafón's The Shadow of the Wind. Richard and Judy call it a 'gripping, utterly absorbing read'. Discover them both for yourself with the extracts below:
We Penguins would like to offer our biggest apologies for the confusion around Mammy Walsh's A-Z of the Walsh Family. Everything has now been rectified and every customer who purchased the edition with the wrong extract will be entitled to a free re-download of the corrected book. This can be done regardless of whether it was self-purchased or bought for you as a gift. It's very straightforward but instructions if you need them are as follows:
To re-download from a kindle - log into your account, go to 'Manage your Kindle' to find a list of ebooks purchased, and use the drop down menu at right to send it to the device again.
From iBooks - tap Store, then tap Purchased. Find the book you want to download again and tap the download button.
It's that simple! However, if you are having problems, do let us know and we'll try our best to help. Enjoy your preview of The Mystery of Mercy Close …we promise it will be worth the wait!

Penguin Reading Music - Chosen by you!
Yesterday we asked readers to tell us the tracks they enjoy listening to whilst reading, and what an eclectix mix we got! From Einaudi to a video game hit, it's a great mix which we recommend listening to on shuffle. So grab a book, pop on the headphones and get listening!

Yesterday we had Sylvia Day with us to celebrate the publication of her erotica novel, Bared to You. Sylvia took some time out of her busy day to hangout with us on Google+ and answer questions from one of our readers.
Check out the video below to find out what inspired Sylvia to write Bared to You, where she was when she began penning the story and what is coming next in Eva & Gideon's story.

Perfect reads for men this season
We've had a look at some of our bestsellers and new releases to find a perfect list of men's reads for the holiday season. Whether you're looking for something short for the commute to the beach or wanting to expand your mind, we've got it here for you.
Yesterday we recorded a fantastic interview with Jacqueline Wilson for the Penguin Podcast. We chatted about her modern retake of E. Nesbit's Five Children and It. We REALLY recommend Jacqueline's Four Children and It as it manages to keep with the spirit, and captures the voice of the Psammead so perfectly, of E. Nesbitt's classic but also translates the story so well into her own world of a jigsaw family.
