PENGUIN TO PUBLISH VICTORIA BECKHAM AUTOBIOGRAPHY

London,12th October 2000 - In advance of the Frankfurt International Bookfair which opens on Tuesday, Penguin today announced that they will be publishing the autobiography of Victoria Beckham.

The book was commissioned by Tom Weldon, publishing director of Michael Joseph, in Spring 2000. Penguin acquired world rights, including newspaper and magazine serialization, from Stephanie Cabot at William Morris in London, in conjunction with Ruby Talent.

Tom Weldon commented "Everybody at Penguin is thrilled to have acquired Victoria Beckham's autobiography. Victoria is one of the biggest celebrities in the world today and she has an extraordinary story to tell."

Victoria said "I have been writing this book since the beginning of the year based on the diary which I've been keeping for a couple of years. I thought it was about time to set the record straight."

The book will cover Victoria's childhood, marriage to David and motherhood as well as her current solo career. It will also include exclusive family photos. It will be published in hardback in September 2001.
