We've gathered some of our favourite romances in fiction: all the way from dangerous obsession to beautiful tales of first love...
John Green
We couldn't write a list of our favourite romances without including John Green's iconic tale about the power of first love. Hazel and Augustus share a love and story that never fails to leave us weeping into our (already tearstained) copy.
Emily Barr
The One Memory of Flora Banks is author Emily Banks' first venture into YA fiction, and she does a phenomenal job. Flora Banks is a teen with a memory disorder that prevents her from creating new memories, until the night that she kisses her best friend's boyfriend and manages to retain the memory. What follows is a captivating tale of obsession as Flora sets out to hunt down the object of her affections.
Moira Fowley-Doyle
If you perfer your romance to include a healthy helping of creeping dread, then The Accident Season is the perfect read for you. Exploring differnet kinds of forbidden love and set in the hauntingly beautiful West of Ireland, this story stays with you long after you finish reading.
Nicola Yoon
From the author of the amazing Everything, Everything (which we recommend too, if you haven't read it yet), Natasha and Daniel's story is in equal parts charming and heartbreaking. Natasha is a scientifically minded girl who is facing deportation to Jamaica with her family, and Daniel is a dreamer with Korean parents who expect their son to stay far away from poetry (unless it's in a textbook). The pair meet one day in New York City, and it changes the course of both of their lives.
Isaac Marion
Okay, we know what you're thinking. Zombie romance?! Trust us - have we ever steered you wrong before? Isaac Marion is a fantastic writer and if anybody would be able to make us completely swoon over a zombie protagonist, then it would be him. Warm Bodies was made into a film, so if you haven't seen it yet we highly recommend that you check it out.
Zoe (Zoella) Sugg
Girl Online was Zoe Sugg (AKA Zoella)'s first venture into writing and it was the beginning of Penny and Noah's story, so it will always hold a special place in our heart. Telling the whirlwind tale of an ordinary girl falling in love with a charming boy with a secret, Zoe's book covers issues from dealing with anxiety to the breakdown of friendships as we grow older
Becky Albertalli
Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda tells the story of Simon's secret online relationship with a boy in his class called Blue. This coming of age story also deals with Simon's struggle to come out to his family, and how his friends react to his sexuality. Blue and Simon make an adorable pair, and this book left us grinning stupidly for about a week after we'd finished it.
