Penguin quiz: who said it, Succession’s Logan Roy or Ebenezer Scrooge?

Ahead of the Series 3 UK finale of Succession, we’ve pitted the words of Logan Roy against Charles Dickens’ iconic “clutching, covetous, old sinner!” – and trying to tell these crotchety misers apart is harder than you think.

Even if you’re not watching Succession at this point, you’re likely bludgeoned with it: co-workers lobbing Can you believes and Did you notices back and forth; a timeline full of ‘no-context’ photos of characters with their faces in their hands; magazines with multiple full-page interviews with the cast.

But (and Succession fans, back us up here) it’s the dialogue, in many cases, that makes the show so scintillating, and nobody is more memorably verbose than the elderly but fiery Logan Roy, Waystar-Royco founder and Roy family patriarch. With both an explosive temper and a way with swearing, he’s got some of the most memorable lines on modern TV. But can you tell some of his pearls of wisdom apart from those of Charles Dickens’ memorable A Christmas Carol miser, Ebenezer Scrooge? We’ve placed lines from both in the quiz below – can you tell who said which?
