The 2019 Booker Prize longlist, one of the highlights of the literary calendar, includes six titles from Penguin Random House, with a brilliant line-up of some of today’s best-loved and most prominent writers and their recent works.

From a dazzling Don Quixote for the modern age, to the tale of a narcissistic, young historian studying in East Berlin, and a return to the sinister dystopian Republic of Gilead, each of the six books span different countries, eras and stories of the ordinary and not-so-ordinary – but all capture the joy, agony and, sometimes, absurdity of the human condition.
