Like Minded People (BBC Radio 4: Friday Play)

This BBC Radio 4 'Friday Play' is a heady mix of marriage, class, and politics, as Gillian and Ray attempt to keep their relationship alive over 25 years of social change. Starring Ruth Wilson and Tom Brooke, Like Minded People was originally broadcast on 4 February 2011. 
Gillian and Ray meet at University. She's from a privileged background whilst his father works in a hardware shop and his mother's a dinner lady. Despite this disparity, they embark on a relationship - a relationship that may well have burnt itself out except for a car accident that binds them together through a mixture of guilt and need. As their lives progress we are given an intimate portrait of the ups and downs of marriage and the political and social changes that help shape our lives.

Picture Man, The (BBC Radio 3 Drama On 3)

The writer David Eldridge introduces his BBC Radio 3 full-cast drama, ‘The Picture Man’ starring Martin Freeman, about a man who despairs of the behaviour he sees around him and decides to take action.

David Eldridge is an award-winning dramatist whose plays include The Knot of the Heart (Off-West End Theatre Award for Best New Play), In Basildon (The Guardian Theatre Critics and Arts Writers No.1 Theatre of 2012) and Holy Warriors. He adapted The Scandalous Lady W for television, and his many radio credits include The Picture Man, The Secret Grief and Like Minded Children.

Neil decides he has been pushed too far by the uncaring and often callous behaviour he sees around him. But when he begins to intervene in incidents by taking pictures on his mobile phone, it has disastrous consequences.  Starring Martin Freeman as Neil, Heather Craney as Janine, Emil Marwa as Hussein and Peter Marinker as George. Also included in the cast are Jake Harders, Ania Sowinkski,  Bailey Pepper, Joseph Tremain, Anna Bengo, Laura Molyneux, Alex Lanipekun and Ben Crowe. Directed by Sally Avens.
