Jane McDonald grew up Wakefield, the daughter of a miner and her mother ran a boarding house. She learnt her craft performing on the Northern club circuit, and went on to become a cruise ship singer and huge break-out star of BBC TV's The Cruise, in 2001. Alongside her platinum-selling recording career, she has presented many television programmes. She was a Loose Women panelist between 2004-2014, and she is now Channel 5's biggest star with two returning series, BAFTA-winning Cruising with Jane McDonald, and Jane McDonald and Friends. She lives in Wakefield with her fiance Eddie Rothe.
