Welcome to Miss Hope's Chocolate Box. I have been in the Sugar HQ kitchen writing down all my favourite chocolate treasures so that I can share them with you. Here you will find fabulous recipes for Pear and Chestnut Truffles, Strawberry and Cream Lollies, Black Forest Fudge and My Mum's Fairy Princess Cakes all laced with the finest chocolate. 
 
I am naturally intrigued by gossip and trivia and you will discover my irreverent chatter interspersed among the recipes. Who would have thought that Romanian for 'Snap! Crackle! Pop!' is 'Clampanitul! Auzi! Pop!'? Would you have guessed that the chap in the kilt on a Camp Essence Coffee bottle is called Major General Sir Hector Macdonald? No, you see, I am here to enrich and enlighten you with a smorgasbord of life-changing facts. 
 
Please also give a warm welcome to my more eccentric recipe contributors, Hans Rollo the Human Slinky, Betty Bright, Squirrel Greenwood, Fearless Freddie the famous entrepreneurial monkey and Cap'n Broderick Leadfoot, the cross-dressing pirate, without whom I am nothing.

Miss Hope

Hope and Greenwood are delightfully irresistible shops in London that  celebrate the best of British confectionery. Inspired by Miss Hope's  memories of playing sweet shops in the garden as a child, the shops  evoke the Britain of yesteryear, selling everything from sherbet lemons  to indulgent chocolate truffles. Miss Hope and Mr Greenwood opened their  first shop in Dulwich, South London, in 2004 and following its huge  success, opened their second in Covent Garden, London in 2008. They are  the winners of a Gold Medal in The Great Taste Awards for their  chocolate and have a website, www.hopeandgreenwood.co.uk
