Join Jonathan Dimbleby, author of highly-acclaimed Second World War histories including The Battle of the Atlantic and Destiny in the Desert: The Road to El Alamein, as he celebrates the publication of his new book Barbarossa.

Jonathan will be in conversation, dissecting and exploring Operation Barbarossa, Hitler's invasion of Russia in June 1941. Operation Barbarossa aimed at nothing less than a war of extermination to annihilate Soviet communism, liquidate the Jews and create Lebensraum for the German master race. However, it was a colossal mistake that lost Hitler the Second World War. Drawing on unseen archival material, Dimbleby puts Barbarossa in its proper place in history for the first time in his usual gripping style.

Jonathan will be in conversation with James Holland, an internationally acclaimed and award-winning historian and broadcaster. He is the author of a number of best-selling books about the Second World War, including most recently, Normandy 44 and Sicily 43.

Don’t miss the chance to hear from Jonathan Dimbleby as he paints a full and vivid picture of this monumental campaign, of which the full nature and impact has remained widely unexplored until now.
