Presented by Theatre Peckham and Penguin Live.

Join Caleb Femi as he celebrates the publication of his book POOR, and hear him deliver his poems with the heart and grit he’s known for, as he shares his love letter to the endz. Caleb will discuss what inspired him, exploring the trials, tribulations, dreams and joys of young Black boys in twenty-first century Peckham.

In POOR, Caleb contemplates the ways in which they are informed by the built environment of concrete walls and gentrifying neighbourhoods that form their stage, and tells a coded, near-mythical history of the personalities and sagas of his South London youth, paying tribute to the rappers and artists who spoke to their lives.

‘Oh my God, he’s just stirring me. Destroying me’ Michaela Coel

Caleb will be interviewed by BBC London’s arts correspondent Brenda Emmanus, and two of Theatre Peckham’s young poets will join to respond to some of Caleb’s work.
