Wonder by R. J. Palacio

A beautiful tale about a young boy who feels ordinary on the inside, but, born with a rare facial defect, is anything but ordinary on the outside. After 27 operations Auggie transitions from homeschool to private school, and encounters real life outside his previously sheltered environment, for the first time.  A book that will make readers laugh, cry, and appreciate that everyone is, and can be different; Wonder isn’t just a book, it’s a movement.

The BFG by Roald Dahl

The unlikely duo of a tiny orphan and a giant… errr, giant – demonstrate that friendship and kindness can come from the most unexpected of places. Matilda by Roald Dahl
