Lorna Russell

Senior Editorial Director, Ebury Spotlight

I am on the look-out for distinctive and original voices with extraordinary stories from the worlds of music, TV and sport.

I have broad tastes. Recent publishing has ranged from two bestsellers by Ted the Dog, the canine co-star of Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing to Kevin Rowland’s raw and searingly honest memoir Bless Me Father.

I always like an outlier with an under-the-mainstream following, for instance truck-mechanic Guy Martin, but am equally happy in a more traditional environment and was very proud to publish Sir Geoff Hurst’s classic memoir Last Boy of ’66. Other books I’ve published include Ben Hunt’s inside story of McLaren F1, Forever Forward; Madness’s origin story, Before We Was We; Will Young’s A–Z of wellbeing, Be Yourself and Happier and Unbreakable, the inspirational autobiography by former SAS soldier and Who Dares Wins star Melvyn Downes.
