Ruby Fatimilehin

I work across all titles on the distinctive and eclectic Hamish Hamilton list, as well as building my own list. I am passionate about fiction that contains emotional immediacy, that defies boundaries – whether in genre, form or voice – and I’m particularly drawn to stories engaging with queerness, postcolonial legacy and the natural world. In non-fiction, I am interested in explorations of subculture, the environment, marginalised histories, personal writing with a political essence, and books that aspire to facilitate wider social change. Authors I’m working with include Anna Goldreich, Margaret Busby, Tao Leigh Goffe and Biyi Bándélé. I was awarded the London Book Fair Trailblazer Award 2026.
