What platform is the event on?
The event is a Zoom webinar, so you will see the author and chairperson, but they won’t see you or the other attendees and your camera will be off throughout. For events with a live Q&A, you can send in your questions via the Q&A function on Zoom.
How do I access the event?
You will automatically be sent your personal Zoom link and password 48 hours before the event. You’ll get another email reminding you of this link an hour before the event’s start time. You don’t need to download the Zoom app to access it, you can just click on the link. You will see a holding screen until the event starts, saying that the host will admit you to the event. You will then be admitted to the webinar as soon as it’s live.
How do I ask my questions?
If your event has a live Q&A, there will be a Q&A button at the bottom of the screen that you can use to send in the questions you have for the author. The chair will then select some of these to ask.
Will the event be recorded?
Please check the event page on Eventbrite – if your event is being recorded it will say so here. For recorded events, a private link is sent out the following day to all event bookers, and you have 7 days to view it. This is only available to ticketholders. It is not possible to record all events, so if the event page doesn’t mention a recording, then it is not possible for this event and bookers will need to attend live.
When will my book arrive?
Penguin Live partner with bookshops to send out books, andthe bookshop will send out your copy on the day of or the day after the event, so you should receive it shortly after the event date. If you haven’t received your book 10 days after the event, please do get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll try to resolve this. Please note, we can’t help trace books sooner than this.
