Are you a teacher who is interested in, or already using, texts by authors of colour in your classroom to create positive change?

Join our live teacher conference to get practical advice and support from our panel of English teachers and authors, as well as building your confidence by learning from your peers and sharing experiences.

What's involved

The full-day conference will be split into a morning segment for secondary school teachers including a reflective practice panel discussion and two author sessions. The afternoon segment will be for primary school teachers and include a reflective practice session and one author session.

Reflective practice panels

During these 90-minute sessions, three teachers will be answering 10 key questions which reflect on the diverse practice in their classrooms, and offering practical advice for teachers to start using straight away.

Author sessions

These 60-minute sessions will include a 40-minute interview-style conversation with an author and pre-selected teacher discussing the themes of the novel, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session.

Prize draw book giveaway

450 primary and 450 secondary teacher segment attendees will receive a bundle of five books, and a further 200 primary and 200 secondary teacher segment attendees will receive two audio books each. For more information and to see the books you could win see the Penguin terms and conditions.
