Who Did You Tell by Lesley Kara
Out in January
We loved Lesley Kara's gripping thriller The Rumour so cannot wait to get our hands on her new novel. Astrid is a recovering alcoholic. She's turned her back on her old life and habits, moved in with her mother and is going to meetings, trying to right the wrongs of her past. But someone doesn't want her to forget her mistakes. It's dark, it's gripping, and you'll read it in one sitting.
Unexpected Lessons in Love by Lucy Dillon
Out in January
This is a gorgeous, bittersweet heartbreaker of a book. In the words of our favourite Jojo Moyes - it's a book that'll make you want to live your own life better. Jeannie always dreamed of true love. And she found it with Dan, in the whirlwind romance that sees him proposing on Brooklyn Bridge. But on the way to the wedding, Jeannie is unsure if 'I do' actually feels like 'I don't know' - it's all happening far too fast. But then fate intervenes on her way to the ceremony. And her choice becomes a whole lot more complicated.
Truth Hurts by Rebecca Reid
Out in February
So tense. So heart-poundingly good. We loved Perfect Liars by the same author and her latest thriller doesn't disappoint. Amid a whirlwind romance, Drew suggests to Poppy that they don't share anything about their past lives - that they live only for the here and now, and make a completely fresh start. She jumps at the chance, but it's only later that she realises she knows nothing about the man she married. Secrets will surely begin to surface, sooner rather than later. With white-knuckle tension and twists you don't expect, it'll keep you reading through the night.
The Wrong Move by Jennifer Savin
Out in February
Full of twists, turns and honestly, our worst nightmare, this book is about what happens when the seemingly perfect flatshare turns into something unexpected. Because how well can you really know the strangers you move in with? Jessie thinks she's safe. She thinks she's made friends with her new flatmates. How wrong she is. It's deliciously dark, suspense-filled entertainment at its best.
The House on the Lake by Nuala Ellwood
Out in February
If you love a nail-biting thriller, make sure this is top of your reading list. Lisa needs to get away. The house in the wild Yorkshire landscape seems the perfect place to lay low with her little boy, Joe. But when a woman from the village comes to visit, she realises they're not as safe as she thought. It's every bit as good as My Sister's Bones and Day of the Accident , a read that you won't be able to shake from your mind. It'll keep you up all night. It'll make your heart race. And it'll make you question everything.
A Springtime Affair by Katie Fforde
Out in February
A new Katie Fforde novel is like the first ray of sunshine after winter - welcome, warm and much-needed. Two heartfelt love stories, both as wonderful as the next, play out in this uplifting story. Gilly loves her B&B business, but falls for estate agent Leo. Helena is a talented weaver, and her landlord offers her the career boost of a lifetime. Both women begin to wonder - will these new chapters lead to a happy ever after? It's pure springtime joy in book form.
The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver
Out in March
We fell in love with One Day in December and we know that you're going to adore Josie Silver's next novel just as much. Lydia and Freddie are meant to be. But then Freddie dies in a tragic accident, and Lydia's life falls apart. When she takes those first few steps to live - and maybe even love - again, something magical happens, and she gets another chance at her old life with Freddie. But there's someone in her new life who wants her to stay. One impossible choice. One beautiful, gut-wrenching read. One love story you won't want to end.
The SIlent Treatment by Abbie Greaves
Out in April
This is one of those books that comes out of nowhere and hits you right in the feelings. It tells the story of Frank and Maggie, a husband and wife who haven't spoken for six months. They live under the same roof and sleep in the same bed, but Frank's words have dried up. Maggie has plenty of ideas as to why that might be, but it'll take a tragedy to unleash the secrets that are causing his silence. It's so heart-wrenching, so powerful, and so tremendously lovely. It's a book about a long marriage and the power of love, and it's guaranteed to touch your heart.
I Made a Mistake by Jane Corry
Out in June
There's nothing like a Jane Corry novel to keep you up all night, racing to get to the end. As addictive as it is entertaining, this needs to be on your psychological thriller reading pile for 2020. Poppy is certain she'd never cheat on her husband, but when an old flame walks into her life, she makes a mistake. A mistake that's more dangerous than she ever imagined. It's as sensitive as it is gripping, the perfect balance of real life and domestic suspense that this author gets right every time.
The Garden of Forgotten Wishes by Trisha Ashley
Out in June
You know it's going to be a good reading year when there's a new Trisha Ashley to cosy up with. As comforting as a steaming mug of tea, with all the warmth and love you want from a light-hearted, escapist story, you can't go wrong with her romantic books, and her latest is as wonderful as the ones that came before. It's not out until June so we can't share a cover with you yet. But we can tell you it's about green thumbs, broken hearts, and letting love blossom. Mark it on your calendars and keep your eyes peeled for another all-round lovely, and quite frankly unmissable story from this author.
New novel by Sophie Kinsella
Out in October
That's right. We were lucky enough to get TWO new Sophie Kinsella books in 2019 (I Owe You One and Christmas Shopaholic ), AND there's another coming in 2020! Spoiled rotten or what? We are sworn to secrecy about this one, so all we can tell you is it'll be out in October. But of course it will be full of all the heart, laughter and wonderfully relatable storytelling we expect from Sophie Kinsella, queen of the Shopaholic series. We'll be counting down the days until we can click pre-order on this one, but til then, good things come to those who wait.
