The Penguin Podcast won a silver prize for 'Best Review' at Saturday's 2017 British Podcast Awards, which celebrate all UK-based podcasts, from big brands to bedroom creators.

Produced alongside Somethin' Else, the podcast has had over 800,000 listens since launching in 2015, and welcomed new hosts Konnie Huq, David Baddiel and Paul Smith last year, with recent guests including Zadie Smith, Harriet Harman and Tom Fletcher.

The award is the latest for The Penguin Podcast team, after they also received an honourable mention in the Podcasts & Digital Audio section of the 2017 Webby Awards last month for their Johnny Marr episode.

Judged by over 50 prominent voices from across the audio and media industry, the awards were chaired by Helen Zaltzman, with the other judges including Miranda Sawyer (The Observer), Maria Williams (Radio Producer), Rhianna Dhillon (Film Critic), Fiona Sturges (Financial Times), Phil Maguire (Prison Radio Association), Caroline Crampton (New Statesman), Marie McPartlin (Somerset House), Michael Hill (Radioplayer) and Paul Donovan (The Sunday Times).

Penguin Random House authors Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode were also honoured at the event, receiving the Listener’s Choice award - which was voted for over 100,000 times by the general public.
