About the Author

Odette Elliott

Odette Elliott has been writing stories for as long as she can remember. Her first picture book Under Sammy's Bed was published in 1989. The character of Sammy was based on her youngest child, who always tried to keep up with the others, just like Sammy! Three more 'Sammy' books followed.The first two books appeared on BBC children's programmes. Odette's is a multi-racial family and this is reflected in her books. Odette has also written a collection of school stories and the picture book My Big Brother JJ.

Georgina McIntyre

Georgina McIntyre graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Central St Martins College of Art and Design in 2005. Through her practice, which includes painting, sculpture and photography, she reflects on how things are made. The urban landscape is a recurrent theme in her work, and her recent paintings explore the aesthetics of the city. Since 2007 Georgina has worked as a freelance illustrator. She creates her illustrations using ink, water colour, oil, collage, and the occasional digital manipulation.
