Ista Flit has a powerful Tide-blessing. She can transform into someone else. Anyone else. Ista has come to Shelwich in search of her father, and will do anything to find him, even use her Tide-blessing for dark purposes.

But there are even darker powers loose in the town. Monstrous grilks prowl the night, snatching unsuspecting citizens, who are never seen again. Ista suspects the grilks took her father, but how do you catch a kidnapper that no one has ever even seen?

Teaming up with Nat and Ruby, who have both lost family too, Ista must draw on all the Tidemagic she can to unravel the mystery. But what she finds in the ancient caves beneath Shelwich may be more than any of them bargained for...
