About Eleanor Dooks

Eleanor Dooks, formerly writing as Eleanor Thom, is an award-winning author of two novels, The Tin-Kin and Connective Tissue. The Tin-Kin won the New Writing Ventures Award for Fiction and the Saltire First Book of the Year Award, was featured on BBC TV’s The Culture Show, and was praised by Ali Smith in The Guardian. Thom was the Communities Writer in Residence for the Edinburgh Book Festival for six years, and has appeared at numerous book festivals in the UK and Canada. Oona Dooks is Thom’s eleven-year-old daughter and an award-winning competitive swimmer and wheelchair user. Sea Legs is their debut nonfiction book, and it has won the World of Books Sustainable Story Award. Eleanor and Oona live in Edinburgh, Scotland with their family.
