Zenzele

As Zenzele, a spirited modern girl prepares to leave home for study abroad at Harvard, her more traditional mother Shiri, finds she has so much she longs to share with Zenzele. Of her own struggles to find her place in the world, of the loves she has lost , of the meaning of being an African woman, of the fight for independence and its heavy toll. Above all, Shiri crafts a narrative bridge of stories to connect with her daughter and convey her hopes and dreams for her future and lay to rest a burdensome and often painful past.
