So it turns out the most relevant philosopher of our times lived over 2000 years ago, or at least that is how I felt after reading this wonderful book. Jonny Thomson is brilliant because he manages to articulate philosophy clearly but in a way that retains its full meaning. There is no dumbing down, yet it is always a breeze and a joy to read about Epicurean philosophy - the philosophy that explored the idea of what makes a ‘good life’ more than any other. This book is wonderful, and will make us all Epicureans.
